How to Design Your Own Antebellum House Plans
Designing your antebellum house plans is a project that you can do for free with the simple paper and pen method and a grid system notebook. However, some websites offer free, user-friendly tools that let you design your floor plan in two dimensions and even display it three-dimensionally. These online methods are detailed and accurate, so you can design your house plans down to the specific scale you need.
Create the basic shape of your antebellum house floor plans, lay walls for each room and part of the house. Mark the wall or room tool to start drawing on the grid. Enter the dimensions you want for each room or part of the house. Lay free-standing walls to section away halls, foyers and other internal parts of the house. Add structural and architectural elements to your home plan, such as doors, windows and stairs. Position fireplaces in suitable spaces such as living rooms and master suites, if desired.
Take a look at the different styles of stairs, doors and other structural elements. Add these to your antebellum floor plan design by clicking and dragging each one to the design gallery. Change the size of the elements by clicking and dragging the outer corner. Decorate your floor plans with furniture for each room in your house. Add beds and kitchen cabinets to bedroom areas, sofas and seating arrangements for common areas of the house, and appliances for the kitchen. Decorate office floor plans with bookshelves, computers and desks and office chairs. Drag each piece of furniture with your computer mouse and set it in the appropriate space on your floor plan, re-size and rotate the furniture needed.
